I have found that the God that I serve is very personal and responsive.

I have found that He delights in surprising me with joy.

Today I was discouraged, feeling a bit lost and purposeless in the unstructuredness of summer and was just starting to voice it to my friend, the Ancient of Days.

I didn't hear Him, but He came near.

I got a text that reminded me of an assignment He gave me for the week in the form of welcoming a newcomer and drawing her in.

And then, a short divine appointment, reunion, and gift all in one. A 20 minute conversation with a dear sister I hadn't seen in several years. A gift that she had set aside for the right person on the topic I am most "woke" to at the moment.

He knows how to keep me loved, He knows how to embrace, He knows how to surprise.

I have found the God I serve knows me well, and delights to make me look up again.
